The UBO
title fight against Kwadjo, who entered the fight
with an 18-3 record, was huge in Fiji, and the
Vodafone Arena was packed to the rafters.
But the
fans went home disappointed, not due to lack of
entertainment, but because the visiting fighter
was declared the winner by unanimous decision
(115-113, 118-114, 118-11) after a close affair.
Ali boxed
another couple of years, winning some and losing
some, including a couple of regional title fights.
His final fight, in November of 2011, was a
rematch with Kwadjo which he lost by second round
stoppage.
According
to BoxRec Ali´s final record stands at 31-13-6
(26). In 2014 he was planning a comeback, but it
never materialized.
In early
January of 2015 news broke that Ali had died in
hospital, a consequence of a suicide attempt
following a domestic dispute a few weeks earlier.
He was only thirty-six years old.
