UBO - Universal Boxing Organization™

From losing fights you are expected to win with relative ease, to becoming a world champion a few years later, boxing is truly a sport where you can make your dreams come true if you believe in yourself and your abilities.

Current Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) World Heavyweight champion Tyrrell Herndon (21-4, 14 KOs) made his pro debut in 2015 and won his first five bouts. But three years later his record stood at a mediocre 12-4, and he had just shockingly lost a fight for the Texas state title to 2-4-2 Corey Barlow.

But Herndon, who has great support from a close team that includes dedicated manager Thomas Hirshman, refused to resign himself to a role of journeyman, and decided that the best was yet to come. Since then he has won nine straight!

In February of 2022, the man from San Antonio, Texas won the American Boxing Federation (ABF) West title, stopping Dumar Carrascal, and two months later he added the ABF InterContinental title to his resume with a first round demolition of Samuel Miller.

On February 24, 2023, he stopped local man John Cortez in Cartagena, Colombia to win the vacant UBO world title. The hard-punching Cortez (15-11-1, 12 KOs) entered the fight coming off three victories, and gave Herndon a good fight before the American stopped him in the seventh round of a shoot-out.

A football player in high-school, Herndon has been an athlete most of his life and knows that the only certain way you wont succeed is if you give up. He could have given up many times in his career, and definitely following his four losses, but he chose not to, and now he is a world champion.

On April 24, his second child was born. Baby-girl Thais Cataleya Herndon entered this world with a champion father, in the ring and outside the ring.

Herndon is looking to defend the UBO world title this summer, but is dealing with a knee injury suffered in training. Another small setback he is almost certainly going to overcome, and continue to be an example that perseverance is everything in boxing, and in life.
