Q & A: UBO World Champion Czarina McCoy

Already the UBO world Lightweight champion, it made the 22-year-old from Las Vegas the first boxer to hold UBO world titles in two weight classes at the same time.

“The Black Rose” has boxed since before she was a teenager, and at the moment it appears that the sky´s the limit for her. Here she answers a few questions about her career.

You moved up through the weight classes and won titles from Super Flyweight to Super Lightweight. Are you going to move up further, maybe attempt to become a three-weight UBO world champion?

I don't plan on moving up more, but if the opportunity comes and it lines up with my goals, then I wouldn't mind it.

What kind of amateur experience did you have before turning pro?

My amateur record was 36-4, and I won a lot of tournaments including the junior Olympics.

All of your professional fights have taken place in Mexico. Why is that?

A Large majority of my fan base is in Mexico. I love the culture and I love the people. In the US I am considered "high risk" so opponents are less likely to agree to fight me. Thats the difference between me and a lot of other boxers, I guess. I am willing to fight anyone. 

Tell us a bit about the boxing reality show you have been a part of?

Its called Celebrity Making of a Champion. We are currently in story-boarding, outlining the episodes and trying to figure out the best way to show our audiences who we really are as people in this brutal sport.

When can we expect to see you back in the ring defending one or both of your UBO world titles?

Negotiations are under way as we speak. I am very excited about defending my titles as soon as possible. I made history with the UBO and I am looking forward to making more.
