Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) Inter-Continental and Latino Heavyweight champion Jesus “Tito” Escalera (8-0, 8 KOs) will make a quick return to ring for the first defense of his titles.

On March 24 in Melgar, Tolima, Colombia, exactly one month after winning the titles, he will headline when T & K Boxing Promotions return with the next edition of their “Rising Stars” series.

Puerto Rican-born Floridian Escalera won the two UBO titles on February 24 when he stopped Yonny Molina from Peru. That fight also took place in Colombia, where Escalera has boxed exclusively since turning pro last October.

In Melgar he will take on former WBC, WBA and WBO regional titlist Epifanio “Diamante” Mendoza, who after a period of mostly taking fights on the road has rebounded with two victories on home soil in Colombia.

Mendoza brings incredible experience in his eighty pro bouts (45-34-1, 38 KOs), and with his considerable power remains a dangerous foe so early on for Escalera.

However, despite only eight paid outings so far, Escalera is also the WBC Fecarbox and American Boxing Federation champion, and is focused on climbing the heavyweight ladder in quick time.
