Outdoors
at the massive Nii Adjei Kraku II Sports
Stadium, the 24-year-old impressively stopped
local rival Victus Kemavor (32) in the second
round.
Segbedzi
was on the offensive from the start, and landed
big shots on Kemavor who tried to fire back but
was overwhelmed and eventually badly hurt by a
hard right hand which prompted the referee to
step in and wave the fight off. Official time of
stoppage: 1:23.
Considered one of the best prospects in west
Africa, Segbedzi was a favourite going into what
was his first title fight, despite facing a much
more experienced foe, but it was not expected
that he would make such short work of Kemavor.
