On December
8 he returns to fight in his birth-country for
the first time in over five years, when he takes
on an opponent to be confirmed for the vacant
Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO)
International Heavyweight title in Kiev.
Winning and
defending the GBC World Cruiserweight crown in
2009-2010, Golovashchenko lost a bid for the IBO
World Cruiserweight title in 2018 to Kevin
Lerena.
Later that
same year, he came up short when challenging
then UBO World Heavyweight titlist Alexander
Frank.
He also
lost a rematch to Frank in 2019, but now he
hopes a third UBO world title fight can be
arranged for 2022, and that it will be
fourth-time-lucky for him.
