Echevarria finished round two strong, and
unfortunately for Reyes he seriously injured his
left hand and couldn't come out for round three.
Born in
Puerto Rico but based in Kernersville, North
Carolina, Echevarria has now won seven of his
last eight bouts and improved his pro record to
18-7 (12). Reyes (30), a former WBF
International champion, drops to 18-12 (14).
“I
want to thank God,
because without him these opportunities I have
been given would not exist”, said the new UBO
champion after the fight.
“Second
I want to thank my wife,
my father and my team for the incredible
preparations for this fight.
I am
super grateful, and I also want to thank the UBO
for allowing me to become champion of such a
great organization. I
look forward to fighting for, and hopefully
winning, the UBO World Lightweight title very
soon.”
