In Ubach-Palenberg, Germany, Kazakhstan-born
Frank (32) impressively stopped Golovashchenko
in the fifth round, improving his professional
record to 16-0-1 (13). 31-year-old
Golovashchenko falls to 19-3 (17).
The victory, coming exactly three months after
he won the title, is something of a statement by
Frank, as Golovashchenko lost a spirited and
close decision to Kevin Larena in a challenge
for the IBO World Cruiserweight title last June.
