Universal Boxing Organization™ All-Africa Flyweight Champion Haji Juma from Tanzania successfully defended his title on Friday December 25 at the Jitegemee Stadium in Muheza on a show promoted by Mwazoa Promotions.

Juma, who won the title last July, scored a ninth round technical knockout over game challenger Patrick Kimweri in front of a lively crowd at the open-air football arena.

In a fast-paced bout, Kimweri started well and won the first three rounds, but Juma came back strong to hurt and eventually pummel his foe in the ninth, forcing referee Emmanuel Mlundwa to save him on his feet.

The champion improved his professional record to 16-8-5 (8), while Kimweri has a seven-fight unbeaten streak halted and drops to 8-4-2 (2).
