Saturday December 5 was a busy night for professional boxing all over the world, and it was no exception for the Universal Boxing Organization™, with one championship fight in Ukraine and two taking place in Russia.

Reigning UBO World Super Bantamweight Champion Oleksandr Yegorov didn’t waste much time in successfully retaining his crown at the Stereo Plaza in Kiev, as he fended off the challenge of former UBO International Bantamweight titlist Gabor Molnar.

Yegorov took control from the first bell and landed hard shots on his Hungarian foe. After a thorough domination in the first round, Yegorov ended the fight by knockout in round two, the official time being 1:21, bringing the crowd to its feet in jubilation.

Making his first defense of the title he won last July, Yegorov (27) improved his professional record to 15-1-1 (8). 22-year-old Molnar drops to 17-9 (11). The fight was promoted by Union Boxing Promotions.

At the Concert Hall In Pyatigorsk, Russia, local shooting star Vyacheslav Mirzaev showed his class by capturing the vacant UBO World Featherweight title with a wide unanimous decision over Issa Nampepeche from Tanzania.

A pro for less than a year, Mirzaev was slightly better in every round, and while the visitor tried his best it was not enough to prevent the home-man from winning clearly on the scorecards: 120-108, 120-108 and 120-109.

The new UBO World Featherweight Champion is now 5-0 (0), and the much more experienced Nampepeche travels back to Dar Es Salaam at 22-5-4 (10).

In the second UBO title fight of the evening, Kenyan Sarah Achieng left the Russian fans disappointed as she thoroughly defeated local favourite Marina Popova to lift the vacant Female Inter-Continental Lightweight title.

Popova, now 2-1 (0), proved she has plenty of heart and determination, but Achieng, who improved to 11-2 (6), had too much skill for her on the night and won a clear unanimous decision by scores of 79-94, 79-94 and 80-72.

The big UBO championship doubleheader was promoted by SKV Boxing.
