UBO - Universal Boxing Organization™

Undefeated Hungarian Imre Szello continued his quick rice towards the top on Saturday (March 14) in Cegled, when he convincingly defeated experienced Shalva Jomardashvili from Georgia to win the vacant Universal Boxing Organization™ International Cruiserweight title.

Just last year Jomardashvili went the ten-round distance with former WBO World Champion Zsolt Erdei, also from Hungary, and he was coming off two stoppage victories, but Szello got rid of the cagey Georgian quicker than any other opponent had previously managed.

After knocking Jomardashvili down once in the second round, Szello didn’t waste much time and finished him in round three, prompting referee Bulcsu Gabris to wave the fight off at 0:36 of the round.

A very impressive result for the new UBO Champion, who improved his professional record to 5-0 (3). Jomardashvili, a former European title-challenger, falls to 40-12-2 (31).

The show, which had nine undercard bouts leading up to the main event and was televised live in Hungary on Magyar Televizio, was promoted by Felix Racz and his Felix Promotions.
