Underdog Jacob Maganga pulled off an upset on Saturday night (February 28), as he beat fellow countryman Alibaba Ramadhani and took his Universal Boxing Organization™ All-Africa Super Middleweight title.

Fighting at the National Indoor Stadium in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania, Maganga was knocked down in the first round, but beat the count of referee Pembe Ndava and came back strong to dominate Ramadhani and force him to retire before the third round.

Maganga, a pro for only two years, improved his professional ledger to 5-2-3 (3), while Ramadhani falls to 12-11 (5).

In the second UBO title fight of the show promoted by Mwazoa Promotions, Ibrahimu Class narrowly defeated Cosmas Cheka to lift the vacant All-Africa Lightweight title by majority decision.

After ten rounds of competitive action, judges Robert Kasiga, Pembe Ndava and Athuman Rashid scored the fight 95-95, 96-94 and 97-93 respectively.

The new All-Africa Lightweight Champion now spots an impressive record of 12-1 (4), and Cheka drops to 13-4-4 (1).
