A very good all-Mexican clash for the vacant Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) Latino Super Lightweight title is set for Saturday August 1 in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico.

Promoted by Rovi Boxing Promotions, Erick Encinia, from Monterrey, will face Durango´s Brandon Rosales in the main event of a card at The Rabbit Punch Fight Club.

Two battle-tested warriors who are sure to validate the old saying that “styles makes fights” in a positive way, and the knowledgable Mexican fans will be in for a treat.

Encinia (22-11-1, 9 KOs) challenged for the WBA Gold world Lightweight title last November, losing by seventh round stoppage to Francisco Fonseca in Nicaragua.

A former WBA regional titlist with plenty of excellent wins on his record, he has since returned with a victory and is now ready to attempt adding another belt to his collection.

While entering the fight as a solid underdog, Brandon “Zombi” Rosales (7-13-3) is a much better fighter than his win-loss-draw statistics suggests.

The 24-year-old has faced excellent opposition in his career, and defeated several good foes. In his most recent bout he beat Carlos Mohamed Rodriguez, who was himself coming off two good victories.

A stacked undercard featuring local talent in well-matched fights will ensure an action-packed night of boxing in Monterrey on August 1.
