Terragno was declared the new
Universal
Boxing Organization™
(UBO)
International Super Welterweight champion on
Saturday night, July 4, in Barge, Italy,
after a firefight with Petros Alifantaros
from Greece.

Terragno
started best, using his superior reach to
control the fight from a distance, but the
aggressive Alifantaros had a clear game-plan to
put him under constant pressure, and it would
not be long before it started to pay off.
Already in
round two Terragno was forced to abandon the jab
and trade with his opponent,
making it a
shoot-out,
but the local
man still managed to move well and score with
his counter-shots.
In rounds
three through six the visitor had found his
grove, and appeared to come out on top of most
exchanges. Terragno was game, but looked tired
and things were not going his way, even though
he had started to use his jab again.

Alifantaros was
on fire in round
seven,
and it looked to be over when he floored Terragno
with a right-left-right combination, but the
Italian just beat the referees count,
bravely but
barely.
Alifantaros looked one punch away from the biggest
win of his career, and he went for the finish but
couldn't find it.
In the eighth
and final round, Alifantaros suffered a cut. The
doctor took a look, and decided he should not be
allowed to continue,
making Terragno
the winner by Technical Knockout.
A very controversial call, as Alifantaros looked
to be only a few minutes away from victory.
Terragno remains
undefeated at 9-0 (3), while Alifantaros drops to
a very deceiving 5-3 (2) and at the very least
deserves a rematch!
