June 2026 UBO Boxer Of The Month: Marcial Carrion

Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) world welterweight champion Marcial Carrion (22-1, 6 KOs) from Chile is the UBO Boxer of the Month for June 2026.

  
 

In a history-making feat, Carrion joined his twin brother, Patricio, as UBO world champion, on June 6, when he edged excellent undefeated Argentinian Tomas Fermin Irusta to claim the vacant title in his home-town Iquique.

It was a breathtaking fight from start to finish, and Irusta was not far off the mark as it was a majority decision (115-113, 115-113, 114-114), but Carrion prevailed against what is arguably his best opponent to date.

Both men deserves huge praise, but only one can be the UBO Boxer of the Month and Carrion worked very hard for the world title and this acknowledgement.


 
 

Maybe both will be honoured when the 2026 UBO Boxing Awards are made official in January, because their fight is clearly in the running for Fight of the Year!
