UBO - Universal Boxing Organization™

When Peruvian hero Eduardo Ajito (25-2-1, 13 KOs) fights for the vacant Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) world Flyweight title on July 11 in his home-town Callao, his co-challenger will be experienced and accomplished Mexican Eduardo Reyes Torres (18-5, 8 KOs).

While Ajito is entering his first world championship fight, Reyes Torres has one previous on his resume, sort of, as he lost a twelve round decision to undefeated Dominican Erick Rosa for WBA Gold world honours in 2024.

The 29-year old from Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, entered the paid ranks in 2015, and was 13-1 when he defeated current WBA and WBO world Light Flyweight champion Rene Santiago for the WBO NABO title in April of 2022.

In January of 2023 he lost a WBO world title eliminator to another Puerto Rican in Oscar Collazo, who is now the reigning WBA/WBO world champion at Minimumweight, so Reyes Torres has been in with some of the best.

He will have no hesitation travelling to Peru for his second world championship opportunity, confident that Ajito brings nothing he has not seen before.

Mexico is among the countries with most professional boxing world champions in history, but if Ajito is successful, in what is the first world championship bout in Peru since 2014, he will be only the third world champion from his country.
