Entering the
fight as the reigning UBO Continental (South
America) titlist,
Carrion
(32)
defeated
co-challenger Dante Colque Fernandez by third
round technical knockout when the Bolivian
national
champion
was not able
to come out for round three due to injury.
Before that it
had been an
entertaining,
competitive and hard-fought first round where
both men gave as good as they got, but at the
end of the stanza Fernadez complained about
hurting his right arm.
In round two
Carrion came out strong, trying to take
definitive control, and dominated the entire
three minutes with sharp combinations.
Unfortunately Fernandez was visibly affected by
the arm-injury, and consequently the ring-side
doctor advised during the break that he should
not continue.
