Undefeated South Korean Yoo Sub Shin (8-0, 8 KOs) is getting ready for a shot at the Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) International Welterweight title.

Shin, based in San Antonio, Texas, will face an opponent to be confirmed for the vacant title on August 16 in Medellin, Colombia.

And he is getting better preparation than most boxers can even dream about, training alongside Saul “Canelo” Alvarez, and sparring with the all-time great Mexican who is working towards his September Super-Fight against Terence Crawford.

The 28-year-old turned professional in his native country in March of 2022, and won the South Korea national title already in his second paid outing. In his third pro fight he won the WBC Asian Silver title, so he has championship experience.

But no fight will provide the experience and knowledge gained from sharing the ring with a living legend such as Alvarez, and getting coached, even if only sporadically, by accomplished and renowned trainer Eddy Reynoso.

Shin has high hopes of becoming a world champion himself, and being part of a Canelo training camp will help him learn what it takes to achieve that dream. But first he must claim the UBO International crown on August 16.
