Malaysian Top Prospect Siew Aims To Snatch UBO Title In Thailand

On June 8 at the Singmanassak Muaythai School in Pathum Thani, Thailand, the 20-year-old nicknamed “The Zombie” will face local boxer Phollawat Nanthaekkaphong for the vacant title.

Nanthaekkaphong, also twenty years old, is more experienced but brings a mediocre 13-10 (9) record. However, he has gone 13-6 after losing his first four, and challenged for the Asian Boxing Federation title last March.

Full name Hazman Bin Iskander Zulkifli Siew, the undefeated visitor turned professional with a first round stoppage at the same venue in November of last year.

That was followed up with a fourth round victory two months later, also at the Singmanassak Muaythai School, before Siew had a better test against former Thailand national champion Nirun Baonok in April, winning a unanimous decision in Bangkok.

With victories in three of his last four outings, the loss coming in the ABF title fight, Nanthaekkaphong enters the fight with confidence as well, and must be considered a risky proposition for Siew.

Siew vs. Nanthaekkaphong will be one of the featured bouts on a show promoted by Manop Iamthuam in association with Tap Boxing Management.
