Redeemed only to an extent,
Floyd was however focused on getting full
redemption in the ring, and boxed excellently to
set the record straight.
Iamthuam, a genuine legend in Thailand, proved a
worthy co-challenger but was out-worked and
out-punched by the talented Aussie.
After twelve entertaining rounds of boxing, judges
Safak Karlidag and Volkan Simsek both scored it
118-109, while judge Ayse Unal had it 119-108.
As it appears that the Professional Boxing
Association of Thailand has yet to accept the No
Contest ruling issued by the World Boxing
Foundation, Floyd´d BoxRec record now stands at
15-1 (10), and not 15-0.
Iamthuam, a former UBO Inter-Continental champion,
drops to 99-6 (62).
A second UBO title fight scheduled for the card,
between Muhammad Shoaib from Pakistan and Mohd
Azahar from India, was cancelled when the latter
missed his flight to Turkey.
