Valente vs. Faretina: All-Italian Xmas Cracker For UBO Glory

An all-Italian fight for the Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) Continental (Europe) Super Featherweight title is set for December 22 at the Palazzetto Luigi Marini in the city of Avezzano.

  
 

Promoted by Marsica Boxe, home-town hero Gianluca Valente will take on Leonardo Faretina for the vacant belt, in a fight which promises to be all action.

Valente has a mediocre 4-4-1 record, but that statistic is very deceiving as has only lost decisions to undefeated opponents, some of which could have easily gone his way.

In his most recent outing he beat former two-time Italian champion and European title-challenger Emiliano Salvini to set up his first championship opportunity against Faretina.


 
 

Faretina (8-5-1, 3 KOs) is also entering his first title fight. After going 4-5-1 in his first ten bouts, he has won his last four and has every intention of making it five straight.

The records may not be glossy, but with the styles of these two warriors it will undoubtedly be an entertaining fight, and likely an early Xmas present for the fans in attendance.
