"The Truck" Runs Over Faruk To Win UBO International Title

Matteo “The Truck” Gubinelli captured the vacant Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) International Super Middleweight title in devastating fashion on Sunday, December 1, in Passo Corese, Italy.

  
 

Gubinelli, now 9-1 (6), ran over co-challenger Omar Faruk (9-2, 8 KOs) from Bangladesh, scoring a devastating second round knockout.


It was basically one-way traffic from the fist bell, as Gubinelli took charge and used his longer reach to control Farouk, and land hard shots almost at will.


In round two he forced Faruk to a corner and unleashed, sending him down heavy with a left hook. Referee Marco Marzuoli began a count, but quickly realised it was redundant and waved the fight off.


 
 

It was a very impressive performance from the 28-year-old Italian, who had clearly decided to overwhelm Faruk early.

The fight was promoted by Societe Internationalle Events Nappoleone.
