Chilean champion Junior Cruzat will square off with Andres Penaloza from Colombia for the vacant Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) Continental (South America) Super Featherweight title.

Promoted by MCC Producciones, the fight will headline a card on December 7 at the Gimnasio Fiscal in Cruzat´s home-town of Llanquihue.

23-year-old Cruzat (14-0, 9 KOs) turned professional at seventeen in 2018, and stopped veteran Cristian Palma in four rounds to win the Chilean national title in October of 2022.

In April of 2023 he decisioned Argentinian Walter Ezequiel Gauchez to win the WBC Latin America title, which he defended six months later with a seventh round stoppage of another Argentinian in Franco Waldemar Sotelo.

In 2024 Cruzat has stayed busy with two routine knockouts of less-than-challenging foes, but in Penaloza he will be in with an opponent who is coming to win.

Now 6-3 (5), Penaloza (24) entered the paid code in 2022, and had a good start to his campaign, including a victory over undefeated Canadian prospect Jack Hemmings.

Earlier this year he suffered losses to quality opponents in Johan Segura and Wilmar Jinete, so he travels to Chile on a mission to score an upset and resurrect his career.
