After a close, tough fight at the Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand on Sunday October 6, Turkey´s Ege Konuk emerged as the new Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) Continental (Asia) Super Lightweight champion.

Konuk defeated game and skilled co-challenger Shivam from India for the vacant title, in one of the featured bouts of FCC 7: Double Impact II promoted by FCC Promotion in association with Highland Boxing Promotions.

It was competitive from start to finish, with Konuk edging the early rounds, Shivam having a good run in the middle part, and Konuk finishing the fight best. Only the final round was a very clear round, as Konuk emptied the tank in an attempt to win inside the distance.

But Shivam weathered the storm, and after ten very good rounds the fight went to the scorecards. Judge Peemai Phosuwan scored it 97-93, while judges Worawuth Duankhao and Thanakorn Khanthong both had it 98-92.

With the hard-earned victory Konuk emulated the achievement of twin-brother Efe who also out-pointed Shivam in the Indians only other loss in June of 2023 in Dubai.

The talented Konuk (21) improves his professional ledger to 11-0 (5). Shivam (23) falls to 10-2-1 (5), but more than made a good account of himself and can certainly come back and do big things.
