And as
expected it turned out to be a competitive and
entertaining fight between aggressive fighters,
with many close rounds.
Both men
had come to give their all, and while it never
turned into the all-out war it was considered
likely to be, it was fast-paced and with few
dull moments.
In the
end one judge scored the fight 77-75 for
Martinez, while the two other judges had it
77-75 for Mendoza, making him the winner by
split decision.

Fighting
out of Modesto in California, Mendoza won his
third straight and improved his professional
record to 23-18-4 (11) in a career taking on all
comers since turning pro in 2011.
“Flash”
Martinez, from Monclova, drops to a deceiving
11-8-1 (6), but proved that he is much better than
his mediocre record suggests.
The fight
headlined “Guerra En La Baja”, promoted by
Urbaneja Boxing Promotions in association with
Promociones Espinosa.
