June 2024 UBO Boxer Of The Month: Emeka Nwokolo

Nwokolo won the world title when he scored a wide unanimous decision over Colombian Jeovanis Barraza (23-3, 15 KOs) on June 22 at the DoubleTree By Hilton in Manchester, New Hampshire.

From Nigeria but fighting out of Los Angeles, California, Nwokolo boxed very well against what was by far his most experienced and accomplished opponent to date.

Being a late starter in boxing, as soccer was originally the sport he excelled in, Nwokolo is making waves and has rebounded amazingly since suffering his sole defeat to Didier Castillo in Colombia almost two years ago.

So far he is having a banner 2024, having won the UBO International title in January and now the world title in June.

Although he is 31 years of age Nwokolo is still young in the game, and it is hoped that he can defend his world title at least once before the end of the year.
