War In Baja! Mendoza vs. Martinez For UBO Inter-Continental Title

The fight is part of a big show billed “Guerra En La Baja”, promoted by Urbaneja Boxing Promotions in association with Promociones Espinosa at the Baja California Center.

34-year-old Mendoza, a pro since 2011 and a former World Boxing Federation (WBF) Mexico champion, is a veteran of forty-five fights, having boxed a long line of top notch opponents in his 22-18-4 (11) career.

He is coming off two victories since losing a bid for the NABF Bantamweight title this past January, where he went up three weight classes to take on 16-0 Dylan Price in Atlantic City.

After paying his dues and taking on all comers, he is hoping to extend his run, and put himself in position for a world championship fight by winning the UBO Inter-Continental crown.

For former WBC regional title-challenger David Martinez (11-7-1, 6 KOs), coming off a victory in his home-town Monclova, fighting Mendoza is a great opportunity.

He may be the underdog going in, but he will find confidence in the fact that he is the younger, and likely fresher boxer.

It remains to be seen if youth or experience will prevail, but it will almost certainly be a “War in Baja” when these two entertaining boxers collide.
