On
Sunday, May 5, at the Olympic Park in Tirana,
Albania, the 34-year-old was struggling against
Edis Biberovic from Bosnia & Herzegovina in
their fight for the vacant title, but he was not
to be denied.
Behind on
all scorecards, and in desperate need of a
knockout, Antonietti came out aggressive for the
seventh round and floored Biberovic twice to get
the stoppage.
Last
December Antonietti had come out on the wrong
end of a split decision against Venezuelan
Yeison Gonzalez for the UBO Inter-Continental
title, and he was clearly determined to no be
disappointed again.

He showed
great character in doing what he had to do, and
took his professional record to 14-5 (10).
Biberovic
(28), putting on the performance of his life and
only a few rounds away from securing the best
result of his career, falls to a misleading 8-8-1
(6).
