With a packed crowd of more than 3000 watching, Kali
”The Malekula Kid” Jacobus won the vacant Universal
Boxing Organization International Super Middleweight
title on July 30 at the Welkins Stadium, Lakatoro,
Malekula Island in Vanuatu.
Jacobus made short work of co-shallenger Temo Kolitapa
from Fiji, stopping him in the second round to the
delight of his many fans around ringside. Jacobus
improves his record to 12-3 with nine knockouts, and
could be defending his new title already this fall.
The promotion was staged by the Malampa Province
government in cooperation with Mr. Wesley Rasu.
