27-year-old Kudryashov, who will be attempting to
follow in the footsteps of another Russian, Rodion
Pastukh, turned professional less than two years
ago and has already made his mark as a future star
compiling an impressive 8-0 (8) record, with no
opponent managing to go five rounds.
After only five paid bouts he won his fist
championship (a WBC regional belt) last year, and
in his last outing he impressively made his first
successful defense by stopping former Georgian
champion Levan Jomardashvili (29-8, 20 KOs) in
three, something no one has been able to do
quicker.
Prince George Akrong, which is actually his birth
name, travels to Russia with a fine professional
ledger of 23-6 (14), and has won his last seven
fights inside the distance. He captured the
Ghanaian national Cruiserweight title in 2009, and
never lost it in the ring. |

Akrong has already fought three times in 2013,
and five times in six months, so he will have
activity as well as experience on his side in
Volgodonsk. At 34 he is not young in the game,
but certainly not old either so it looks like an
interesting match-up.
The Dmitry Kudryashov vs. Prince George Akrong
nationally televised UBO World Cruiserweight
title fight will be promoted by one of Russia’s
leading promotional entities, SKV Boxing.
