On Saturday night at the Yeongdeungpo Girls High School in Seoul, South Korea, massively popular Ju Hee Kim won the vacant Universal Boxing Organization™ Female World Junior Flyweight title.

The Korean boxing heroine claimed the title by stopping Ploynapa Sakrungrueng of Thailand via technical knockout in the tenth and final round. It was a rematch of their first fight this past March, which Kim won in the sixth round.

Now 26 years old, Kim became one of the youngest world champions in history when she won her first world title in 2004 at only eighteen years of age. She turned professional at fifteen.

By beating Sakrungrueng (19) she improved her impressive professional record to 17-1-1 (8), and the girl from Thailand is now 9-3. The fight was promoted by Geoin Promotions.

It was revealed after the fight that Kim, also champion of several other organizations, may defend her titles in May in the USA as there is interested from the Korean-American community in bringing her over for a fight.
