The new UBO World Champion improved her impressive
professional record to 17-2 (6), while the game
Halasi dropped to 10-6 (9).
This was a rematch of 2011 non-title fight that
Lauren won by TKO, and this time she was pushed
harder by the well-prepared Serbian, who came into
the bout looking to capitalize on her superior
punching-power.
“She gave me a really good fight”, said Lauren in
a post fight interview. “I was actually a bit
surprised, because she stunned me a few times and
busted my eardrum. So I am really happy that I
beat her again.”
If Halasi carried more power than Lauren, the
Swede was always the stronger of the two and had
success in going forward and forcing Halasi to
fight off the back foot. Early on the pattern was
clear, Lauren was going to win a decision if she
didn’t get caught, but Halasi was always dangerous
and only one punch away from victory. |
