Fabrice ”Big Boy” Aurieng of France is the new Universal Boxing Organization™ Inter-Continental Heavyweight Champion after defeating Croatia’s Jakov Gospic on Saturday (January 21) at the Palais Des Sports in Le Gosier, Guadeloupe in the French Antilles.

On a show billed “Heavyweight Collision”, Aurieng impressively stopped Gospic in two rounds to win his careers first boxing championship, after many titles in the martial arts world where he has competed at world class for years.

Gospic seemed confident that his big power-shots could get him the victory, but Aurieng fought smart and clearly had speed on his side.

Most expected a long and close bout, so it was a big, but happy, surprise for the enthusiastic fans at ringside when Aurieng managed to get rid of his opponent in less than six minutes.

After suffering some unexpected losses earlier in his career, Aurieng seems to have found his form and improved his professional record to 6-3 (2).

Gospic, who last year went nine rounds with undefeated German Erkan Teber in a fight for the WBC Mediterranean title, fell to 10-4 (8).

Promoted by Francois Yrius and Onewayprod, the event was televised by Canal+, and supervised by the French Boxing Federation (FFB).
