The title was left vacant when former champion
Mason Menard won the UBO world title earlier this
year.
In front of a near sell-out crowd, Giuriceo, who
had prepared with world class operators such as
Daniel Ponce De Leon and John John Molina Jr.,
improved his undefeated professional record to
14-0-1 (3) with a unanimous decision over Green,
who dropped to 7-5-1 (3).
The show was promoted by Lights Out Management in
association with Inside Boxing.
In a competitive fight the local hero was the
busier of the two, and used his superior ring
generalship and infighting skills to take control,
while the game Green at times seemed to be a step
behind and outmaneuvered.
Green kept trying though, and had some success
with nice counter-punches. But Giuriceo, spurred
on by his enthusiastic supporters, never lost his
cool and did a great job of boxing and clearly
finished the stronger with a very good final
round.
After ten entertaining rounds the scores came out
97-93, 96-94 and 99-91 in favor of “The Bull”.
