On this occasion Manda noticed the best amateur
Boxer in Kisangani, a young man named Kayumba
Peter. He advised Peter to move from Kisangani to
DRC capital Kinshasa to try his luck as a
professional, and the talented boxer followed the
advice.
Once in Kinshasa, Manda guided the beginning of
Kayumba Peters paid career. Now, three years after
leaving Kisangani, Peter has passed his state
exams and will return to his birthplace as an
All-Africa title-challenger. On August 20 he will
take on Namibian Samuel Kapapu for the Universal
Boxing Organization™ (UBO) All-Africa lightweight
title at the Stade de Kisangani.
Also on the card will be “Young Nelson Champion”
Eric Kapia Mukadi, who is considered the best
prospect in DRC after beating countryman Tumbo
Berros this past April for the “Nelson title”,
sponsored by Beltexco. Eric Kapia Mukadi will face
Ali Kulibali from Mali for the UBO All Africa
Welterweight title.
Mukadi is a fan favorite, and known for his style
being similar to one of the greatest fighters of
all time, Sugar Ray Leonard, so the Kisangani
crowd will be in for a spectacular night. The main
sponsor of the promotion will be Beltexco
who will be acompagniged by
Airline CAA (Compagnia Africaine d'Aviation).
