Cheka Retains Title With Dominant Performance

UBO Inter-Continental Middleweight champion Francis Cheka retained his title on Saturday night (9.11) with a dominating performance against Ugandan challenger Muhamad Sebyala at the Jumhuri Stadium in Morogoro, Tanzania.

After twelve one-sided rounds, judges Said Chaku, George Ngalula and Agapeter Mnazaret all scored the bout 120-108 for Cheka who was making the third defense of the title he won in 2008.

Referee was Anthony Ruta, and UBO supervisor was Emmanuel Mlundwa.

With the victory Cheka improved his professional record to 20-6-1 (13), and the game, but outclassed Sebyala drops to 8-5 (3).

The fight, promoted by Zumo Makame and his Best Man Promotions, drew a massive crowd at the Jumhuri Stadium, and underlined again that Cheka is probably the most popular boxer in Tanzania.
