| Universal Boxing Organization™ Inter-Continental Middleweight champion Francis “SMG” Cheka will make the third defense of his title on September 11, when he takes on Ugandan Med Sebyala at the Jamhuri Stadium in Morogoro, Tanzania. The fight was announced at a press conference held by Zumo Makame, the managing director of Best Man Promotions. |
| Cheka, 19-6-1, 13 KOs, won the title in March 2008 by defeating fellow countryman Hassan Matumla, and has gone 6-1 in his last seven bouts with the defeat being on points in a spirited effort against the highly world-ranked current European champion Matthew Macklin in England. Last time out, this past December, he defended the UBO title with a convincing second round annihilation of Brazilian Champion Isak Tavares, and it remains to be seen if he can be as dominant against the durable Sebyala. |

Sebyala, 8-4, 3 KOs, is also coming off a victory in December, as he scored a fifth round technical decision over Achilles Ssimwogerere after suffering an eye injury. This will be his first time boxing outside Uganda since turning professional four years ago. UBO Supervisor for the bout will be All-Africa Commissioner Emmanuel Mlundwa. |
