Undefeated Cruiserweight Matamba
Postolo stayed sharp for his
upcoming UBO International title
fight with a convincing fourth
round stoppage over Eedmos
Takawira from Zimbabwe on
Saturday May 29 at the Stadium
Kabila in Lubumbashi, D.R.
Congo.
Improving his record to 9-0 (5),
Postolo will now shift his focus
to countryman Kabuya Aggry
(7-2-1) and the UBO title. The
two will clash on July 31 in
Mbuji-Mayi, in what is an
eagerly anticipated grudge
fight.
Promoter Mukadi Manda expects a
big crowd on the night, and is
anticipating a near classic
encounter:
“This fight is going to be huge
for Congolese boxing fans, and
it is an almost certainty that
it will live up to expectations.
It is going to be a gruelling
fight, and I am thrilled to be
able to bring this event to
Mbuji-Mayi in cooperation with
the Universal Boxing
Organization and the local
sponsors”.
The Democratic Republic of Congo
already have one UBO
International champion, as
Ilunga Dominique won the
welterweight title in March,
when he beat Tumbo Berros on
points. Postolo vs. Aggry was
orriginally scheduled for June
30, but Manda found it nessesary
to postpone due to the soccer
world cup. |
