In a clash of southpaws, 20-year-old Shauri got
off to a rough start with Kiilu (40) taking
control and dominating the action with his slick
style and sharp punching. After two rounds, it
looked as if the veteran might be able to finish
his younger opponent quickly, but it was not to
be.
In the third round Shauri started to have some
success of his own, while Kiilu still boxed well
and looked like the better man. Round four was
more of the same, but it would not be long before
the tides turned.
The fifth round changed everything, as Shauri
twice floored Kiilu with hard left counters. Under
pressure and not able to utilize his own attacks,
Kiilu managed to survive the stanza but had
quickly gone from on top of things to being close
to the edge. |
