Kudryashov Stops Akrong For UBO World Title

Kudryashov, nicknamed “The Sledgehammer”, came out strong from the first second, and immediately tried to establish dominance over his slightly shorter opponent.

However, Akrong had his moments where he showed that he is a gifted and battle-tested contender.
 

After a few rounds, the contest had turned into an interesting clash of wills, as both men tried to get the upper hand. But Kudryashov was, when it came down to it, the better man and his power shots took their toll on Akrong.
 

In round five, Kudryashov connected with several hard shots that prompted referee Alexander Kalinkin to rightly wave the fight off and save a clearly hurt Akrong from further punishment. Time was 2:13.

27-year-old Kudryashov is now 9-0 (9) in the professional ranks, and proved that he is probably one of the hardest punchers in his weight class. Akrong (34), who can travel back to Ghana with his head held high, falls to 23-7 (14), losing for the first time in his last eight bouts.
 

Promoter of the fight was SKV Boxing, who put on a fantastic event for the knowledgeable and enthusiastic Russian boxing fans in attendance.
