Fazekas and Kiss put on a very entertaining
encounter, with Kiss starting the fight best and
looking like the better man in the first three
rounds. Then it was Fazekas time to take over, as
Kiss seemed tired and Fazekas clearly won the
fourth round.
In round five, it was again Fazekas in the
driver’s seat when the pair accidentally clashed
heads. Fazekas sustained a nasty cut from the
impact, and was unable to continue, so according
to UBO rules and regulations the fight went to the
scorecards.
Judge Miklos Dory had Fazekas ahead by 48-47, but
Bulcsu Gabris and Tamas Sasvari both had Kiss up
with the same score, resulting in a split
technical decision victory for Istvan Kiss, who
improved his professional record to 12-8 (7).
Fazekas drops to 15-8-1 (11).
In the co-feature, local man Roland Mohacsi faced
Romanian Oszkar Fiko for the vacant Youth World
Lightweight title. This match-up also turned out
to be a real cracker, as both men fought with
their hearts on their sleeves. |
