Ribchev vs. Andino for I-C 160 Lbs. Title

Ribchev, going by the ring-moniker “The Fish”, is coming off a disputed loss to world-ranked Anthony Fitzgerald in England, where he lost by one point in a fight where the Irishman came in almost seven Lbs. heavier and fought as a full-fledged Super Middleweight.

Before that Ribchev had beaten former Commonwealth Champion Matthew Hall in a non-title bout.

Javier Crispulo Andino, a 23-year-old Southpaw nicknamed “La Cobra” because of his ability to finish a hurt opponent, turned professional in 2008 in his hometown of Posadas in the northern part of Argentina. He won his first professional title last year when he captured the Misiones State championship, and the bout against Ribchev will be his first outside his native country.

“I have watched videos of Ribchev, and respect him because he has had a good career around Europe and beat good fighters in their back yard. But May 18 will be my night, and I will beat Ribchev in his back yard”, said Andino shortly after signing the contract.

Normally a Cobra versus a Fish would be no match, but being the more experienced of the two, and fighting in front of his own fans, Ribchev will be looking to take Andino to deep waters where a snake is not necessarily able to swim!

The Alexey Ribchev vs. Javier Crispulo Andino UBO Inter-Continental Middleweight title fight-card on May 18, promoted by 2011 UBO Manager Of The Year Vasko Vasilev and his Alexeev Boxing Promotions, is labeled “BoxMania”, and will also have female former multiple world champion Galina Ivanova in action.
