With the victory Mdinaradze improved his
impressive professional record to 19-1 (15), and
Saidi dropped to 10-5-2 (8), losing his second
straight Youth World title fight.
In July the Tanzanian champion lost a close
decision to undefeated Oleksandr Spyrko in
Ukraine for the IBO version.
In an entertaining bout between young,
hard-punching boxers, Mdinaradze prevailed by
using superior boxing skills, while Saidi did
his best to apply pressure and take the fight to
the Georgian.
Saidi had some success with his right hand, but as
the rounds progressed it was Mdinaradze who did
best with power-punches.
The end came in round four when Mdinaradze went to
the body with a hard hook and then went to the
head with a perfectly placed left hook to the
jaw. Saidi went down, and didn't manage to beat
the count. |
