Enes Refik Ciftci is the new Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) Inter-Continental Super Welterweight champion after winning the vacant title on Saturday, May 24, in his home-town of Balikesir, Turkey.

  
 

In the main event of a show promoted by Resul Ciftci Promotion in association with HUN Promotion at the RSC Sports Center, Ciftci, stopped Novruz Huseynov from Aserbaijan in the second round.


The fight started at a fast pace and both boxers threw hard and often, but Refik Ciftci soon forced Huseynov to a corner and kept him there, picking his shots nicely.


Huseynov tried to counter, but was hurt by a left hook and took a knee. He beat the referees count and made it through the round, but then disappointingly quit as the bell rang for round two.


 
 

The new UBO Inter-Continental champion improved his professional record to 14-2 (11). Huseynov falls to 13-4 (10).
