UBO - Universal Boxing Organization™

Friday night, May 9, saw two new Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) champions crowned at the Idrowhyt Events Centre in Dansoman, Accra, Ghana.

Inexperienced but promising Dana Kofi captured the vacant UBO Continental (Africa) Super Welterweight title, defeating former WBU world champion Sulaimon Olagbade from Nigeria.

In front of an enthusiastic and noisy crowd, Kofi, only twenty-one years old, impressively stopped his much more experienced and accomplished foe in round four.

Improving his professional win-loss statistics to a misleadingly mediocre 5-3 (5), the new UBO champion proved that you can come back from adversity early in your career and still achieve big things.

Olagbade, who besides the WBU world title has also held Nigerian national and West Africa Boxing Union titles, was coming off five straight knockout victories but drops to 14-3 (12).

In the evenings co-featured bout, Emmanuel Mankatah Sackey won the vacant UBO Continental (Africa) Super Featherweight title by halting Nigeria´s Yusuf Muhammad Olalekan.

26-year-old Mankatah Sackey looked sharp and determined, as he finished the fight in round five.

Taking his pro record to 9-3-1 (7), Mankatah Sackey appears ready to take another step up in his career, while for Olalekan (29), now 9-3 (7), its back to the drawing board.

Cabic Big Fight Night” was promoted by Cabic Promotions & Management.
