Originally
Akhoondtabar
(8-3-1, 4 KOs)
was scheduled
to fight Michela Braga for the title in Giuliani
on March 1, but Braga is out and Garganese is
in, and date and venue has also changed.
28-year-old
Garganese
brings a modest 3-2 (0) record, but
has
proved her
worth
in her five
bouts since turning pro in September of 2023.
Last time out,
last November,
she gave
Bianca Voglino a tough fight for the Italian
national
title, losing
by decision after ten competitive rounds.

Before that she
had won three straight since losing her debut
on points to
European title-challenger and current Spanish
champion Natalia Francesca,
including victories over undefeated Fabiola Aggio
and Giulia Lamagna.
Promoted by
International Events Napoleone in association with
Accademia Pugilistica Andriese, the fight will be
broadcast in Italy by Sky Sports.
