UBO - Universal Boxing Organization™

Former Italian and IBF Mediterranean champion Nicola “Il Drago” Cristofori (16-3-2, 1 KO) is set to fight for the vacant Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) Continental (Europe) Middleweight title on March 22.

In one of the featured bouts of XXIV Memorial Duran, a show promoted by L´Accademia SSD and Boxing Duran, he will face fellow countryman Giustu Durante (8-2, 1 KO) at the Palasport in his home-town Ferrara.

Cristofori turned professional in the fall of 2015, and won the Italian national Welterweight title in March of 2018, defeating the very capable Michele Esposito.

In July of 2022 he beat another quality foe in Andrea Roncon to lift the IBF Mediterranean Middleweight crown, and now he is ready to go for his third professional title.

Giustu Durante, from Palermo, has only lost once since losing his paid debut in 2021. He has won his last five, albeit against straight-forward opposition, leading up to what will be his first championship opportunity.

As none of them are big punchers, and both skilled technicians, this shapes up to be a very interesting tactical battle.

Also on the card, another fascinating all-Italian match-up sees undefeated co-challengers Nicolo Amore (8-0) and Diego Cravagno (4-0) clash for the vacant UBO International Super Lightweight title.
