When Cecilia Comunales (6-1, 4 KOs) takes on Halana Dos Santos (13-3, 8 KOs) for the vacant Universal Boxing Organization™ Female World Lightweight title on January 9 at the Hotel & Casino Conrad in Punta del Este, Uruguay, it will be a match-up between two determined boxers on a mission. Both have worked hard and sacrificed in training to win the UBO World title, and both are ready to go through hell and high-water in the fight to become champion! Comunales is returning from a back-injury and hasn’t been in the ring since February of this year, but she feels ready and in top-shape for the bout, saying: “I feel great, and I am working 100 percent in each training session. I had one week off with the flue, but I returned to training even more motivated, and have since worked harder than ever. I know a lot of people is expecting me to win this fight, and there is a lot of pressure on me, but I try not to let it get to me, and I am focusing completely on doing what I have to do to win the UBO World Championship”. Big expectations is something Halana Dos Santos knows everything about. Mostly because she has very high expectations of herself, and of defeating Comunales on January 9. This will be her third world title fight, having twice lost in WBA challenges, and having that “Big Fight Experience” could be a major advantage for the 21-year-old Brazilian. “I intend to win this fight. I should win this fight, and I have prepared very hard to travel to Uruguay and put on a great show. I know it won’t be easy, but I am going to win the fight and bring the world title home to Brazil. I am fighting for Brazil and the great tradition of world champions in my country”, said a confident Halana Dos Santos. |
