Former UBO world Super Welterweight champion Tommy Browne from Australia is still going strong, and won a WBC regional title on June 8 in Pathum Thaini, Thailand, defeating Channarong Injampa by unanimous decision.

Brown, who won the UBO world title in 2018, had announced his retirement a couple of years ago, but it didn't last too long as he returned with a win last April and is now 45-8-2 (19).

Another former UBO world champion continues to do well in Thailand, as former Middleweight ruler Adli Hafidz from Malaysia is set to defend his WBC regional title at Light Heavyweight on June 27 in Bangkok.

After winning his title last December, also in Bangkok, Hafidz (13-1, 8 KOs) will face Rattawut Thongaram (6-1, 5 KOs) in his first defense.

Congratulations to former UBO world Lightweight champion Stevie “Sledgehammer” Morgan (14-1, 13 KOs), who has landed a huge fight against Puerto Rican super-star Amanda Serrano (46-2-1, 30 KOs) on July 20 in Tampa, her own home-town.

Fun fact: USA-based former UBO International Welterweight champion Joshua Onyango from Kenya, has a very significant but overlooked result on his record.

Onyango, who won the UBO title in a home-coming fight in December of 2007 in Nairobi by defeating Ugandan Billy Kizito, defeated a young up-and-comer named Gabriel Rosado earlier that year, scoring a unanimous decision in Philadelphia.

Rosado later won a rematch, and went on to become a crowd-pleasing fan-favourite who challenged Gennadiy Golovkin for WBA and IBO world Middleweight titles, and Peter Quillin for the WBO world title.
