It was sad to learn that former world Bantamweight and Featherweight champion Eder Jofre had passed away earlier this month.

The Brazilian all-time great, pictured with former UBO Inter-Continental Heavyweight champion Fernando Rodrigo Simoes de Almeida, was eighty-six years old.

Jofre (72-2-4, 50 KOs) was only defeated by one man, Fighting Harada from Japan, who decisioned him in 1965 and 1966, and was elected to the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 1992.

An avid fan of the sport until the end, Jofre watched several UBO title fights from ringside and was always an encouraging personality.

Rest in Peace, legend!

UBO Female World Lightweight champion Czarina “The Black Rose” McCoy (10-1, 3 KOs) will return in a non-title fight on November 19 in Cadereyta, Mexico. No opponent confirmed yet.

21-year-old McCoy is also staying busy by being one of the contestants in a major boxing reality show called “Celebrity Making of a Champion” (www.celebritymakingofachampion.com), where both male and female professional boxers compete to win a million dollars.

Former UBO World Cruiserweight champion Joey Vegas from Uganda returned to winning ways on October 1 in Kampala, after a losing bouts in China and Russia.

Vegas, now 22-18-3 (15), won the vacant WBU Inter-Continental title by stopping Mbaruka Kheri (18-10, 15 KOs) from Tanzania in six rounds.

Another former UBO titlist, Denmark´s Kim Poulsen (30-5, 8 KOs), is working on rebuilding his career after a break of almost four years.

Poulsen (35) won the UBO Inter-Continental Lightweight title in 2009, and lost a decision to Jayde Mitchell for the WBA Interim Oceania Super Middleweight title in Australia in December of 2018.

Perhaps confused to discover that Denmark is apparently located in Oceania, he didn't fight again before returning with two victories in Austria, where he now resides, on September 10 and October 15 of this year.
